Chris J is a Sydney based guitar teacher/band coach/songwriter/performer. Born in 1975 Chris J started playing guitar at the age of twelve, Graduating from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Contemporary Music – Guitar Performance.
Chris J has extensive experience in producing and recording projects using industry standard technology in his Studio which is equipped to be a rehearsal space for large bands and has the ability to record live rehearsals to full multi-tracked recordings for his clients.
Chris J’s new release “One Small Step” is twenty minutes of music demonstrating his songwriting and guitar technique and is dedicated to his daughter Abigail.
Chris has been involved in the session work/Masterclasses/Clinics and performing with numerous Australian artists , he has toured Los Angeles with “Yolanda and the Stolen Boys” in 2010. Since 2008 Chris has played second guitars for “the Peter Northcote Band”… In 2008 the band supported “Joe Satriani” at the Enmore Theatre and the band toured Japan in 2009 performing shows in Shibuya. Chris performed with Pyrothian” (Sydney based Metal/Rock Band)..They entered the Emergenza competition 2009, made the final and Chris was crowned the “Emergenza Best Guitar Player award 2009”. 2011 to 2013 Chris was employed at Big Music Crows Nest as a guitar teacher and band coach.
Chris J was awarded 2016 MusicoZ nominee for the Instrumental category for his song “One Small Step”.
